“I started my Judo career at age 48. I had been studying firearms technique and defensive tactics for a decade, and had come to the conclusion that those methods, while indispensable in some rare circumstances, missed 90% of what is actually necessary to protect oneself in today’s world. I met with the late Kyu Ha Kim, and he seemed to understand perfectly. I found Judo to be very useful, extremely interesting, practical, realistic and a lot of fun. And I found there are no friends like judo friends. It is a privilege.”
